F.A.Q.
We know that buying a pool cover raises a lot of questions. That’s why we’ve put together the answers to the most frequently asked questions about the Coverseal, its installation, maintenance and much more.
You will find them below, classified by theme or accessible via the quick search.
Practical questions
Yes, by reducing the intensity of the spray and using a neutral pH soap. Special attention should be paid to rails where regular cleaning is essential to ensure the performance and longevity of your cover. For the trim, we recommend using a microfiber cloth to preserve its appearance and durability.
The membrane that strongly limits photosynthesis and prevents leaves from falling into your pool should keep you from having to resort to shock treatments to purify your pool water. Nevertheless, under exceptional circumstances, this type of treatment may be considered. However, it is strongly recommended to keep the Coverseal open for 24 to 48 hours, to avoid any excessive concentration of chemicals that could damage the membrane.
No. Repeated shocks or excessive pressure may cause deformation of the trim or damage to the mechanics. Such damage is not covered by the warranty.
Yes, on the latest versions of the Automatic model, it is now possible to control your Coverseal from a smartphone while keeping a direct view of the cover when handling it, for safety reasons. The dedicated application also allows you to consult technical parameters such as:
– the charge level of the batteries,
– the number of opening/closing cycles performed,
– the history and details of alarms in the event of malfunction.
For previous versions, an upgrade is possible in order to activate the opening and closing control via your smartphone. We recommend that you contact your Partner directly for more information.
It is not necessary to walk on it to clean the membrane: a low-pressure cleaner (set to moderate power) or a telescopic handle is more than enough. However, you can walk on top of them barefoot or with flat-soled shoes, without any risk. A quick reminder: the Coverseal provides effective protection in the event of an accidental fall, but it is not designed to be used as a playground.
Our covers do not require any special technical maintenance. However, it is strongly recommended to carry out regular cleaning of the rails and mechanism to remove any accumulation of sand, soil, leaves, branches or other dirt that may affect proper functioning and life of the cover. In addition, it is necessary to respect the rules stated in the user manual, such as maintaining the appropriate water level in your pool, in order to preserve the safety of the cover.
Delete and reinstall the mobile app: When launching it for the first time, allow Bluetooth access. The cover can only be connected to one phone at a time.
Connect near your cover: If an update is available, the app will guide you step by step. Follow the on-screen instructions. You may need to unplug and reconnect the power cables. If the step “Firmware installation” or “Cover verification” loops for more than 2 minutes, follow these steps:
-
Fully close the app,
-
Unplug both black power cables,
-
Wait 5 seconds,
-
Plug the cables back in, making sure they’re properly inserted,
-
Relaunch the app and repeat step 2.
The “Cover verification” phase may no longer appear — this is normal and means the board has restarted correctly. If the update still fails or the issue persists, please contact our technical support team.
Regardless of the model, your pool cover can always be opened or closed manually. Even in the event of a battery failure, there is always a solution! However, the manual manoeuvre should only be used in the event of a power failure and should not be used to loosen your cover.
1. Remove the 2 flaps (one on each side of the trim). For modules without cylinders, go directly to point 3.
2. Lift the trim on each side until you hear the click.
3. Identify the red motor cable and disconnect it.
4. Identify the manual manoeuvring flange and insert the extension provided during installation.
5. Place the racagnac (ratchet wrench) at the end of the extension, and adjust the knob to the desired position.
You can now operate the system to open or close the cover. To put your cover back in place, reverse the steps from 5 to 1. To lower the trim (only on models equipped with cylinders), actuate the two levers inside it by lifting it slightly before lowering it again.
Membrane
We recommend performing at least two cleanings per year, depending on your pool’s environment (presence of trees, sand, dust, urban pollution, etc.).
A thorough cleaning is essential before the first opening and reactivation of your pool. Before cleaning, make sure the cover is fully closed and locked.
Use a soft brush and a low-pressure domestic cleaner (maximum 80 bar) together with a neutral pH cleaning product.
The galvanized steel or aluminum casings are powder-coated. Clean them using a microfiber cloth, clear water, and if needed, a mild, pH-neutral soap. For mirror-finish or metallic-finish surfaces, we recommend monthly cleaning:
-
Remove impurities from top to bottom with a low-pressure water jet.
-
Apply a gentle cleaner, free of alcohol and ammonia, using a lint-free microfiber cloth with linear motions (avoid circular movements that may leave streaks).
-
Rinse with clean water, then dry immediately with a soft cloth to preserve the surface shine.
Regular cleaning of the rails and locking mechanisms located under the casing helps extend the cover’s lifespan.
-
Start by removing debris (sand, leaves, branches, soil, etc.) with a vacuum or blower.
-
Rinse with clean water, ensuring dirt doesn’t accumulate at the end of the rails.
-
To clean inside the rails, lift the belt (black strip) when the cover is rolled up (pool open).
You may use a high-pressure cleaner, then reposition the belt once cleaning is c
For Automatic Models
Simply clean them with a microfiber cloth and clear water, avoiding chemical or aggressive detergents.

Yes The material used to manufacture the membrane has been used for many years in construction, in particular to make large structures such as exhibition palaces. It is supplied by Serge Ferrari, a world leader in this field, and meets the most demanding standards, including NF P90-308 (December 2013). It is a pre-stressed membrane coated with several layers of polymer, capable of supporting several tons and recovering its initial shape after deformation. It is, therefore, a solution that guarantees safety and tranquillity for the whole family.
Check the power supply: open the side hatch and make sure the power connections (black cables) from the solar panel (lower cable) and the battery (upper cable) are properly plugged in. If the cover still cannot be found in the app or doesn’t move, proceed to the next step.
Reinstall the mobile app: delete and reinstall it. When opening it for the first time, allow Bluetooth access. Make sure only one phone is connected to the cover, and connect while standing near it. Your cover may require an update. In that case, a banner will appear in the app. A board restart may also be necessary, simply unplug and replug the cover’s power cables. Refer to the attached vidéo for guidance.
Test without solar power: unplug the solar panel cable (lower black cable). Then try using the wired control or the Open/Close buttons:
-
If the buzzer remains silent, the fuse is likely the issue (go to the next step).
-
If the buzzer beeps but the cover remains still or moves erratically, the battery is probably the issue.
Replace the fuse:
-
Version with 1 fuse: unplug both black cables, open the electronic box with a small screwdriver, and replace the fuse with the supplied 20A one (included in the box). Plug back in, test the cover over 1 meter using the buttons or wired control, then reconnect via the app if everything works. Plug back in and test again.
-
Version with 2 fuses: open the side hatch and unplug both black power cables. First, check the battery fuse (bottom one) and replace it if it’s damaged. Plug in and test. If the issue persists, check the motor fuse (top one), replace it if needed, then reconnect the cables and relaunch the app.
If the problem persists after completing all these steps, please contact your installer.
On previous generations of Automatic models, the winterization switch allowed you to disable the remote control receiver to preserve the batteries during the low season, when the sunshine is lower. It is recommended to place it in the OFF position from 1 September to 1 May. Otherwise, the batteries could fall into deep discharge and require replacement. Note: on the latest versions of this model, this switch is no longer present, because energy management has been optimized.
All you need to do is:
– close the cover completely
– maintain the water level of your pool according to the instructions in the user manual;
– clear the solar panel(s) of the Automatic model in case of heavy snowfall to maintain a good charge of the batteries
– set the winterization switch to off in order to preserve the batteries (previous versions of the Automatic model)
Thanks to the membrane, photosynthesis is strongly limited: no noticeable dirt is found in the spring. For optimal results, it is advisable to run the filtration only a few hours a day during wintering.
